'76 911 dash switches?
Hi, my '76 911S has the two little switches on the dash for rear wiper and headlamp washers - it has neither fitted! (the car is off the road currently so I can't check to see if they do anything)
Is this unusual? I am wondering if the washers and wiper may have been removed over the years - or maybe those switches are given other uses where wiper/ washers aren't fitted? Any ideas please? Cheers Buzz |

The switches were not fitted to cars that didn't have the options. Either your car had the options, or a previous owner added the switches for some other purpose. Porsche made plugs to fill those holes, if you want to get rid of the switches.

Alternate use
Provides a switch that looks like it should be there (hidden in plain sight), but you can use it to disable your ignition. Also, provides a way to crank the engine a short bit with no ignition to help avoid a blown airbox from a dribbling coldstart valve.
