Removing knee pads on '85?

I need to remove the passenger side knee pad to do some surgery on my glove box door.

BUT, for the life of me I don't see how the darn thing comes off - can't find any screws holding it in???? Bentley is no help - they show a picture of a later car with the square vent - my '85 has the older style vents (that don't move much air).

as always, any help is greatly appreciated!

On my '88 there are 2 studs that come up from the knee pad through the dash. One has a nut below the radio and the other is at the corner below the a/c vent. Pull the radio and the vent to get to them.
Good luck
