3.2 Carrera CV shaft question

Hi,

It seems like something is missing from one of my CV shafts. One of them keep separating, and when I look closer it seems like there is a 5 mm flange missing to keep them together.

My question is if this flange is important for the functionality? Can this be bought as a spare part?

Regards,

Johan

I am not sure to be honest, it is the outer diameter size, 110 mm?

I checked the parts diagram and it might be no 19 which is named "lid" but I dont know for sure....

I finally managed to get the pic in here.....

As you can see there is something missing to hold these two pieces together.

Regards,

Johan

Yes, there is a flange missing, That part on this axle is not serviced separately, you will have to purchase a complete axle.

I'm not comprehending something. I see the axle shaft, dust bellow, cv balls, cage, but no dust bellow flange, or cap. And the splined inner race is missing. That is what the axle needs to slide into, so the whole thing can be assembled. Also missing are the washer and C-clip.

I think you can buy new CV joints, grease, the bellows with cap, and re-assemble it fairly easily.

Looks like an 86-89 911 axle. Not supposed to come apart on the outboard side like that.

See: 911-332-024-15-M60 on this page http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_SUSaxl_pg2.htm#item9
