Mechanic recommendations - NJ?

Any recs for a good quality mechanic / shop in Central New Jersey would be welcome. I've been using Bodymotion in Ocean Township and have been satisfied with the service but not the prices. What put me over the edge is yesterday, being charged over $100 ($17 per) for 6 spark plugs - Pelican sells the same plugs for under $4 each. Has anyone used Mario Lemedico in Red Bank, NJ? Mayo Clinic in Little Silver? Is ******** in Chatham good?
Thanks,

******** is good, very reputable reputation, and i used to work for them. Chris is extremely knowledgable. But they don't really do mods, or at least not anymore i was told. Powertech in Rockaway is very good, i also used to work for them, and they'll do anything you need. Stock maintenence or extreme mods, and Andreas (the parts clerk) is very good at getting good prices on parts. If you go to powertech, tell them slaveboy sent you!

And BTW, i live in NM now, and i still can't find anyone to do precision work on my parts (i work on the car myself) like Mike could at powertech and still keep the prices down. Keep that in mind.

And the same plugs (Bosch copper?) are available at Pep Boys for .99 ! Anyway, I found Tom and Greg at High Marques in Morristown to be honest, courteous, and priced well. PM me if you have any other questions.

Thanks. Seems like the good places are North and West of me. Bummer.
FYI the plugs were Bosch platinum.

I go to Gene at ******** in Chatham, very fair labor rate ($80 hour) considering my volvo place charges me $105....His parts were virtually the same prices as I could have gotten here at Pelican...

BTW ******** is now much smaller then many years ago when Gene was in Morristown, its just him and a young guy starting out. Christian Garibaldi used to work for him. Just my .02

I too used Gene--still a nice sized shop, and he always has a few fun toys lying around.

Hey, so what happened to Chris? Where is he now?

He and Gene parted ways about 6-8 mos ago, not sure of all of the shop politics, and not sure where Chris is these days.
