mfi sdjustment

i just read an old adjustment instructions for my 1972E and noted it is counter clockwise for lean and clockwise for rich, but i seem to recall there was some difference of opinion,as to the exact opposite in this forum a few years back,my car is testing rich at idle and want to lean it out,any helpful sugestions will be appreciated.

clockwise to lean
counterclockwise to richen

Have you run through the "check, measure, adjust" handbook? If you haven't you can really screw yourself up.

depends on what you are adjusting. Idle is opposite of the main rack

mfi adjustment

hi guys thanks for the info, this is whats bothering me, i am almost certain, its right (clockwise)for lean and left(counterclockwise)for rich.but the adjustment instructions indicate the opposite,i wonder if it is an error in the printing of the Manuel,i can go by trial and error, but in a couple of years my brain will have shrunk another couple of millimeters, maybe this time ill remember to write down the results,i see you guys have mfi cars, blast to drive,

That particular one is correct for idle mixture. Now behind the allen screw is a slotted mixture screw which is clockwise for lean and counter clockwise for rich. This is for mid to top end mixture range.
