NY - Vermont Run 10/26 -10/28
![]() NY/NJ/CT/MA/VT Pelicans ... We are doing a fall weekend run from NY to Vermont. The plan is that we will be leaving NY on Friday 26th Oct and heading north toward Adams MA over Mount Greylock and then onto Route 100 and head up towards Waterbury VT taking VT 100 on the way up. We will be overnighting in Waterbury. Then on Saturday 10/27 heading down from Waterbury driving some of the best roads in the VT area, RT 4, RT 7A Skyline drive, RT 5, RT 106 amongst others. This map gives a good idea http://www.newenglandriders.org/BestOfNewEngland/BestRoads/VTBestRoads.htm There is a google link in the top navigation bar, where you can see the routes. We will be planning Saturday's route and accommodation over the next few days, please feel free to chime in with recommended roads, attractions, food places, must see things. After another days spirited driving we wake up on Sunday earlyish for more of the same, and at some point probably after lunch head back down toward NY and points beyond. Some people will just doing one night, others are doing two. Great cars, good company, fall in the NE, and some of the best roads we can find ... Please post to the thread if you would be interested in joining us so we can get an idea of numbers for the accommodations. It would be great to get as many Porsche's as we can. All cars welcome ! |

We are ready for you up here. I've notified the president of the Green Mountain Region of PCA, and I posted info about your plans on Facebook. I'm part of GMT in spite of living in southern QC.

I am on the fence about this one guys, but steering more towards going every day. (pun intended) I have DE this coming weekend so hopefully I will not blow my car up....
Keep me "posted", haha yes one more... BTW, great links, great research and planning. Should see if you can get up on the Metro PCA site. |

I realize that I am a little late coming into this and I missed the conference call. I hope that everyone will get together before the ride. Might I offer 1 suggestion? The group should also think about pooling resources in regards to getting good photos and video. At least it should be something that is thought about, no sense in having 8 guys with the same photos. For instance, if there is a really good scenic turn, someone can run ahead, plant a gopro then loop back so the whole convoy is caught on video. Just a thought.....

alright, so maybe one more suggestion, communication!!! it actually might even help the photo / video thing. At the very least, people should try to get some simple little walkie talkies. They actually do help. If you want to go one more step lets pick up cheap CB radios. See the 2 links below, you could get a radio and a small magnetic antenna for like $50. It might be a cool thing.

I'm in!!... If anyone wants to join in anywhere along the route, post exactly where we can swing off and meet(coffee shop, dinner, gas station) and we will figure an approximate time to meet. We are also looking some good spots to eat along the route specifically near the Mt. Greylock area in MA. It's going to be a great time...I get more excited by the day.

Just did the VT trip. My brother lives just off 100 A so I have done Rt 100 about 100 times, at midnight , in 2 ft of snow (VW) and durring peak foliage.
You guys should be just past peak by those days. ... but sometimes there is actual traffic . Rt 17 "The Ap -Gap" is real nice but drops you on "the other side" have fun.

Hugo, I did not see my name on the confirmed list you sent out. I thought I had one of the 6 rooms that you reserved, please let me know if that is not that case and I have to reserve a room.

Going to try to make it with the Porsche... if I can get it back together. Good to see it's open to other cars if only the VW is together. I'd say I'm more like 50%.
