What's needed to add Rear Sway on 72 without
 

I have a 72 that would like to add a rear sway bar, don't see any signs of one now so what parts are required?

I see that there are U-tab kits from Weltmeister not sure what they do.

I was looking at a post for Smart Racing rear sway but now I am not sure it will fit without U-tab kit or WEVO rear mount 533015.

U tabs are for the front, then you have U bolts/brackets that connect to the torsion bar tube, this is the cheap way that welt came up with and is what I have used for 15 years. But, if I were to do it again I would get weld in brackets like you state above, and another after market bar. What do you have in the front? Also, most will say to upgrade the torsion bars first, but that is up to you.

Thanks tobluforu makes sense I bought Welt 22 bars which are thru body so no mods but may change these. I have coil overs in rear so to keep with the higher end setup I will go non- Welt rears for sure. I will need to weld the RSR strut enforcements so ... I'll look for welding ins on Wevo mounts

...sorry I have 350 lb rear and will go 250 lb front coils so that is already in the works

If you have the stock ball mounts on the rear banana arms then its an easy job to weld the factory sway mounts to the chassis and then fit a standard sway bar and bushes. I used the Weltmeister clamp to the torsion bar tube aftermarket type for a few years while racing, it worked fine and was adjustable but I was kept breaking the drop links (Heim/rose joints) The PO had welded studs to the banana arms as the 911T did not have the factory ball mounts. I bought the correct ball mounts and welded them into the banana arms and fitted the factory sway bar mounts, the whole lot is stock now, much nicer but not a racing setup at all.

What a shame I am on the wrong side of the Pacific Ocean, I have a pair of steel banana arms with the RS reinforcing etc, stashed in the garage roof now my 911 is a Sunday driver.

If your car did not come with a rear bar or the factory mount points, in addition to the bar, you need two things: A way to mount the bar to the car body and a way to attach the bar ends to the trailing arms.

I had to do this to my 1973.5.

Fortunately, Weltmeister has solved these problems.

To attach the ends to the swing arms, Welty made this Sway Bar Eccentric:

It is the replacement for the factory ball mount piece on the banana arm and provides the outer mounting point for the bar with the added benefit of giving you some adjustability to the bar.

To attach the bar to the car, you need a set of these Weltmeister Adapters which bolt onto the Torsion bar tubes:
