Lightbulb Powder Coating?

Anyone out there powder coat parts on their car? I have had many parts for airplanes powder coated and they hold up great. Would it work on parts like window trim? I'm sure it would be great for brackets and such. I have been considering this for a few parts just to freshen things up a bit, but not too sure what it would and wouldn't work on. Anyone out there try this? Thoughts?

I like powder coating a LOT!!! So trouble free, and looks great. I have powder coated such things as the entire engine tin set, including the air deflectors, old steel banana arms, front lower A arms, steering cover plate, and various smaller external pcs.
What I have never done, but have seen and envied is the fan and fan housing done in a good hard powder coating. I may do that one day as well.
I am not sure about the window frames. I think it may be a thick enough coating to upset some tolerances there. No actual experience, though.

Lots of listers here have powdercoated various engine bits. Use the same guys you used for the aircraft parts - they understand the behaviour of magnesium and aluminum alloys. Keep away from the [cheap] patio furniture guys.

The results are very durable, and easy to maintain.

Pretty Engine. Not over done like a lot I've seen. I will definitely start making a list of parts to take off and have done. Anyone out there powder coat any exterior pieces?

It works and looks great. Also lasts a long time. Not too expensive based on the time spent repainting the same part over and over. I have my wheels, the rear duck tail grill, the front vent grill, wiper arms and various other little knick knacks.

Exterior pieces? I'd suggest looking into having them re anodized.

A few months back.

I powder coated the fan housing and polished the magnesium fan. Three months later, the fan is still a brilliant silver.

Anyone ever powder-coated their brake calipers? I'm sure I remember someone coating them after refurbishment (new seals etc). How did they cope with the heat treatment etc?
