Yes it will fit, but that is not a 964 motor. It is a 3.0 CIS motor.

OK, that will fit as well. Bill V, Jack O., and Thom and others have done this conversation with the 964 motor. I have also looked into it. A short list would include wiring narness, the DME, DME pick up on the flywheel, flywheel, exhaust (SSI will work but not the best) power stearing pump cover, pulleys, etc. There is a kit that offers instructions and components for the switch for about $1,400/ Average time to complete is 40 hours. Total cost with a used motor is around $10K depending on the exhaust and if you do the work yourself.
I notice you are in Irvine. If you do decide to undergo the project, or even do your motor I would be happy to lend a hand. i've never done either but am pretty good with a wrench.

Well, yes it will fit, but it isn't straight forward. To learn about 3.6 conversions, try:
www.instant-g.com www.bodymotion.com www.patrickmotorsports.com There are lotsa extra costs than just the engine. Bear in mind that as well as mating it to the car, providing adequate cooling (3.6 has no engine mounted oil cooler) and making an exhaust fit, you might want to think about whether your brakes and suspension are in good enough condition for an extra 80-100hp.

The latest issue (July) of 911 & Porsche World covers a guy who did this to his SC.
