Air in front oil cooler line

Recently replaced the short flexible portion of the front oil cooler line due to a leaking connection. Now that it is back together, is some air in the front oil cooler line a problem?

I expected a lot of oil to come out when I removed the section of flexible, but it didn't. So there must be oil in the front cooler, but there is also likely air in the line as well now. By running the engine and getting it warm enough to engage the pump to the front cooler, will any air be a problem?

Maybe I'm thinking of my home radiators....

Thanks.
Matt

Air will be forced out as soon as the thermostat opens and the oil is pushed back into the oil tank.

So no problem letting the pump push the air bubble through?
You know, now that I think about it the pump won't be pumping air at all, will it? It will pump oil, pushing the air bubble through the cooler system and back to the oil tank.
Thanks for the help.

The nature of a drysump system is that the scavenge pump will suck both oil and air. So the oilpump will always pump an amount of air around the system.
