Question Oval Shaped door plug... P/N?

I am painting/restoring my Carrera and am missing a door plug, but not the round type. This one is oval, on the passenger side only, and covers the access to the window frame bolts. I couldn't find a description nor part number on the pre-84 or 84-89 PET Katalogs. Anyone know this part number, or better yet, have one or two they need to get rid of?

I'm guessing your door has been replaced in the past.

964, 993 and replacement doors use the oval plugs.

Part # is 999.703.345.40

Thanks so much! That's the part!
That door doesn't properly contact the light switch on that side either. I guess this is also part of the reason. I'm going to check out that door in more detail when I take it off for paint.
Thanks again.

there is a technical bulletin describing the fix for the light switch problem when using an 86 up door on an earlier car.

Yeah, that's what my drivers' side has. I wouldn't have guessed I had a 964 door. I didn't know they were different anyway!

Ooohh, can you give me a hint? My first thought was welding a small patch of steel on the door where it contacts the switch before repaint. Maybe I should check the P/N for the door contact switch on 964's, perhaps that is different too? There is very limited adjustment on the switch without losing the seal to the doorframe.

Thanks all for getting me started. This November will be it's 30th birthday. She's going to look nice for her party!

If you still need it, I can dig out the bulletin on Tuesday and sendit to you.
From what I remember, you relocate the switch higher or lower to line up with the new door.
