lighting system`
getting a 1999 911 state inspection in maryland it failed because of no side lights.car seems to be an imported car from Europe, the front lights on the side of fenders before wheelwell are turn signal indicators instead of side lights.and there seems to be no rear side lights,or place for them
the inside rear lamps are the tail running lamps and stop lights . the left out side lamp is the rear fog lamp. no light on rear right side outside lamp, does any one know how to convert or rewire this |

A quick way would be to insert a resistor from the running light (parking light?) to the outside yellow/orange bulb.
This would put partial voltage on the outside light...enough to satisfy the DOT I would think. If you leave the original wiring on the outside bulb...when you turn on the turn signals...that bulb will now blink at a brighter level. Sort of like using a single filament bulb for both a tail light and a brake light. Bob
