Removing center dash knobs/switches

I am trying to remove the knobs/switches on the center dash console of my 964 (IE fog lights, headlights, defroster, etc). Do these just push out or are they screwed in?

thanks.

You peel back the rubber surround and pull out the switch's symbol/cover plate. Then you should be able to see a nut that holds the knob on. Once you get the knob off, then there is a threaded disc (parts diagram calls it a rose) that you have to spin off with a pointed tool like a pick or an awl.

That sounds a lot more complicated than removing most buttons, haha. I will have to be careful removing the rubber surround without damaging it then.
