Break fluid spitting out!!

Iv not had the car long, it's a 79sc. When I hit the brakes only the fronts work (well) but not the rears, the rear pads look new and the rotors are in spec. but also brake fluid spurts out the overflow pipe on the master cylinder .

I am no brake expert, but if your lines are plugged or your slave cylinders are seized, this could happen. This is strange as I believe that you have a dual circuit brake system (the left front and right rear are on one side and the others are on another circuit so that if you blow a line, you still have one front and one rear brake).

When you loosen the bleeder screw on the rear brakes, do you have brake fluid squirt out whan you step on the pedal?

Thanks Harry, can't cheque the car at the moment just it's in having a new clutch and oil cooler! but only the fronts are working. though I think your on the right track. I have been told that the rubber lines can get blocked, I wonder if the duel system is fronts and rears only. that is if you loos the back or the front at a time??

All 911s have a front circuit and a rear circuit. How do you know that the rears aren't working? If they are not, then there should be a light patina of corrosion on the working faces of the rotors. Its unlikely(but still possible) that both sets of rear pistons are frozen or that both sets of rear hoses have collapsed. I would look at the master cylinder as the most likely culprit. Also check the drivers footwell for brake fluid. Also check the booster canister for fluid, there shouldn't be any.
