ROW fuel for '76 2.7 MFI
I am wondering if in Europe they still use leaded fuel. I have a ROW '76 2.7 MFI and will I have an issue with the valve seats since we use unleaded fuel?

A quick google search shows leaded fuel was banned (on paper) in 1998 and came into effect in 2000. How long has the car been in the USA?
If you're concerned, you could throw in some lead substitute additive, but as I understand it, Shell gas has a built in 'softener' for the older cars that roiginally ran on leaded fuel. You may have to research that a bit more.

Leaded fuel has been banned in the EU since 2000 and the mid 90's in the US. There are some small exceptions though. So your Carrera hasn't been using leaded fuel for quite sometime. The fuel is CA is pretty crappy but since the 2.7 RS engine is lower compression than some of the early 911 engines it should run fine on 91 octane.
Make sure you use oil with an adequate Zn (ZDDP) content to protect from wear. There are several good threads covering this topic. Has your car arrived in the States yet? If so tell us how it goes. ![]()

I thought most of the valve seat issues (recession) were related to cast iron heads....I've never seen an issue in alloy heads on older cars...some lubricity issues with valve guides from the lack of lead but not valve seats.
