Stuck on DIY Lens Replacement - Need Help!

Happy 4th to all! I am trying to replace my lens covers on my '73 today. After removing the old covers, I unscrewed the light housing to remove it so I could cleans things up a bit and put on a new rubber seal. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to disconnect the $(#*% electrical cord that provides the power to the signal assembly. Without disconnecting this cord, I can't remove the housing and get the necessary space to clean things up.

I know there is probably a simple solution, but I don't want to force things. Any ideas on how to disconnect the cord from the light assembly???

Also, what is the proper glue for attaching the new seals? Thanks in advance!

At each corner of the car ... there is a 6-pin bulkhead connector dedicated to the turn signal /lamp assembly. It may require cleaning off mud, etc. to get a good grip on it ... but, wiggling and pulling should loosen the plug! Don't pull on just the wiring! You will need to disconnect the oil level sender to take the right rear assembly off the car.

Black 3M weatherstrip adhesive ... 08011 is the preferred product to use on the seals. Clean off any excess with acetone or MEK before it hardens.
