Post More in-car video from Road America. 911 S racecar

Okay, here's some more from the website. THe scene: MidWest Council's Crystal Tack Cloth Challenge at Road America. Me in a 70 S chasing down (and passing!) a Sunbeam Tiger and a hot looking Mustang.

Nice. That tow truck didn't have a chance! Just kidding. That looks like a pretty fast track. What was your top speed? Man, I have GOT to get on a track.

HaHaHa! I bet the guy sitting on the back of the Tow truck has an 'exciting view'.

Top speed for me is probably about 140-150mph (I'm assuming, 5000RPM in 5th gear). I tape over the speedo there, you really don't want to know... :0

Did you hear me miss the shift into fifth geargoing down the hill?

Why would you not want to know? Is it a distraction to keep looking at the speedo? I did hear the missed shift, but only because I was trying to count shifts to figure out how fast you were going on the straight. What kind of events do you go to. Lots of different cars in your videos so I am assuming its not just Porsche events. I will be (most likely) moving my Porsche and myself to the west coast next year and will be looking to go to as many track days as I can manage. They have DE events here in Hawaii, but not very often. And I always seem to be at sea when they happen. When I only work six months out of the year, it is pretty aggravating to come home to find I have missed the event by a week.

Something I have heard.. One quality of a good race driver is that they have a really crappy imagination.

I don't want to know the speed mainly because you start to focus on that, and not the 'feel' of the car. Plus, it would probably scare me to know how fast I was traveling through "the kink". (THe kink has been described by many a famous driver as the one of the scariest corners in the world.)

I do mostly Vintage Racing. VSCDA and MidWest Council Vintage. My car is not competetive in PCA (would class in GT-something...) THere are other groups around here, but I LIKE the 13/13 rule. Keeps my shiny side staying shiny.

Go to www.real.com and download their free player.

The 13/13 rule is if there is any metal to metal contact, the person at fault is on probation for 13 months. If it happens again, they are suspended for 13 months.
