SSI swap - oil lines

The SSI sales page from our host recommends the purchase of two oil lines when swapping from the factory exhaust manifolds on my '81 SC to SSI heat exchangers. It's a while yet before I will purchase the SSIs, but I'd like to know if it's possible to swap out those oil lines the next time I do an oil change so that I'm ready for the manifold swap later on (and don't need to drain another 10 quarts of oil!), or if the new lines would interfere with my OEM setup.

The SC and Carrera exhaust have a cross pipe at the front of the engine and the oil line is run towards the rear of the engine and then across behind the left exhaust manifold.
The SSI and other header type exhausts connect at the rear so the oil line crosses under the front of the engine.
The two exhaust types have completely different oil routing.

- Except . . .
There is the very specific exception of the Elephant Universal Crossover Pipe.
The universal crossover pipe avoids both exhaust types by routing the oil over the top of the 915 transmission. (It cannot be used with the G50 transmission.) It uses the same oil lines that the SSI page showed you and gives you the unique ability to swap the exhaust back and forth freely which can be very useful in locations where you need to give the car a smog test.

Note that the universal crossover pipe has to be removed to put the engine on a standard P engine yoke.

SSI Oil Line Replacement

Hello,

I have a '89 Carrera G50 that currently is running SSI headers, but I would like to swap these out for a set of original HE's and exhaust.

Can someone tell me the part numbers for the original oil lines that need replaced to convert back to OEM HE's?

Thanks in advance!

JD
