What the hell? No sump plate??

Learning something new everyday. Found out late model productions engine930.16 (1983 SC) didn't have one, a pre-carrera case preparation? Now the question ...where is a safe place to jack-up rearend to get it on jackstands?? Can't seem to find one. Jack pad doesn't get high enough.

the sump plate wasn't a safe place to jack anyway.

Any recommendations about where to jack up the back? without the sump plate as a lift point i don't see anything else suitable? Last thing i want to do is crimp an oil line or some other ungodly damage. thanks

do you have an extension plate you can put in the side jack point (sold here on P)...I jack up one side of the car and place my stands on the rear torsion extension and the front T bar retainer/cover...one side at a time. Works fine

There are many past threads on this topic (like the folllowing) -

Reiver, you're back :) Not too keen on going side to side (w// jack pad) saw a picture on rennlist of someone doing that and the car slipped off the torsion nub putting the jack right through his wheel well. Rather hoist up the total back at once andthen place jacks. ?

Did you read the thread I posted?

To each their own but I am happy I went with two jack tube extension plates and two jacks. Allows for much lower angular differences as you go from side to side.
