Sunroof Cables - 83
Couldn't find anything specific to my question in the posts or the 101 Book.
'83 911 sc RoW here. Followed the 101 procedures and looked for other posts but not much on how to remove cables. My sunroof is out and the guides removed. The cables are in the back of the roof -that is by the left and right of the motor / where the "mechanism" was. Should I attempt to pull them out of the guides from the back or try to push them out to the front where the the sunroof was? Also, do these cables connect to the plastic sliders that slide into the glide slots on the glides? On my sliders it looks like they have a piece that's stripped away - which may have been where the cables were originally connected. I'd post a picture of a "slider" but I now have a technical problem with my phone(Galaxy S=Safe Mode???(No need to respond on theat one)). Thanks all! Thanks all! |

if the cables are still intact, you should not be able to pull from the motor. you should pull the cabes from the front where the sunroof was. there are a few threads that takked about the sunroof and the fixes that people had done to fix sunroof's issues. if i find something, i will let you know.
good luck. |

Thanks 911euro.
I saw that very excellent post and others as well but none described my situation where the cables are in the back by the sunroof motor lodged to the left and right. Looks like they came out of the open side of the channels. In other words they cannot be seen looking from the sunroof opening. But I think you answered my question - I should attempt to push them through the channels so they come out where the sunroof opening is. Once they are available in the sunroof opening I can pull them out to examine them. |
