Bosch Fuel Pump alternatives?

Anyone know of an alternate manufacturer instead of Bosch for a 911 fuel pump?

I think I saw a post of someone mentioning ordering an aftermarket one from fuel pump king. Any info on these?

Are other brands reliable. Thanx! L

Why would you want something other than Bosch? Our host sell the Bosch fuel pumps at a pretty reasonable price.

If the original Bosch pump is hideously expensive (and some of the earlier/rarer ones really are, think an early 930 rear pump was over $600 last I looked), consider using the Bosch 044 motorsport pump as a replacement; about $200 thanks to economies of scale (because it's used in everything from tuned JDMs to Cosworths to WRC cars), out-performs any fuel pump the factory fitted before they started fitting the 044 to the GT3's, and will cost you a few extra bucks for adapters to mate it up to your factory hose.

Don't forget to look at the fuse (pump is rated ~13As, rather than the 7-8 Amps which is more typical for a 911 pump - but I'm pretty sure I'm running mine on my original 10A fuse) and you'll need to update the electrical connectors on the pump 1mm larger.

Oh, and tuner graphs demonstrates it out-performs the Walbro "300 lp/s" pump by a very healthy margin, especially at high pressures (like CIS) and flow rates (turbos).

But it should work just fine for anything except MFI applications, I think. System pressure is controlled by the regulation, the capacity of the pump isn't a factor (it's just not working as hard in a carbs or EFI application).

maybe only for emergency use, but...
passing this on from someone else:

you can safely clean/ lube your fuel pump by submerging it in some diesel fuel with wires attached, running it for about 30 sec. in the normal direction using your battery, then reversing polarity at the battery and running it BACKWARDS for about 30 sec.

You'll be amazed at the crap that comes out of it!

It'll run better and QUIETER after that treatment. I've fixed tons of them this way.

I have 2 gallons of PB blaster parts cleaner in a five gallon bucket and it is clean. Would that suffice vs the diesel fuel cause I want to do this procedure and my car is in the air now.

Also, before I pull it off is replacement of the sealing rings mandatory? Looks like they are crush rings so I bet the answer is yes. Suppose I ought to get a new check valve, too.

I now have the adapter needed to fit a 044 Bosch pump as a replacement for the rear pump in a 930.

When used with this M14 Male cone adapter and a new crush washer............

you now have an improved but less costly replacement pump.

Here's what the Bosch 044 Fuel Pump looks like with the correct adapters to fit a street 911SC or 3.2 Carrera. The M18 inlet end requires two adapters to bring it to M14 size...........

The outlet takes a normal M12 Banjo........

that is crimped to a new feed hose going to the tunnel. I make these custom fuel hoses to order.

Walbro does make fuel pumps that will work sold by ********.com under Carter name. I believe they are made in the US.

I got a new Walbro pump for my 79SC two years ago for $50.-. It is an exact relacement for the original Bosch pump with internal check valve. Sofar no problems though I drive the car less than 3,000 miles a year. At that price I can keep a spare around just in case.
