Identify Rotor
RoW '83 here.
I went to change my rotor and rotor on my distributor is different than the new one from the host. I tried to match it to others on PParts but I can't seem to find a match. Any ideas? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1362077661.jpg |
Rev limiter on old one, not on new one (I think).

You are exactly right. Stops those annoying shut downs at 6200 rpm. Steve

Thanks guys.
The PParts shows that the Rev Limiting Rotors apply to 74-77 911's. So they must work on '83's? To remove the Rev Limiting Rotor, just pull it straight up, like most rotors? |
I have a rev limiting rotor on my 89 and it is probably a good thing, it pulls straight up and when putting it back in, do not force it or it will cost you around $30 to replace. Been there, done that. Steve

Thanks Steve
So the Rev Limiting Rotor our host sells is good for '83's and '89's (probably 78-89)? |
the rev limiters came in three flavors up to 7,300 rpm
look for the limit stamped on the underside you can disable it by removing the slider and spring if you have a lower 6,200 one. Bill K |
So are you guys saying the you think the US SC rotor will work on a ROW SC? I understand that the US one does not have a built in rev limiter. IIRC the ROW rotors are quite a bit more $$$ than US ones.

I'm wondering if the '83 doesn't have a rev limiter built into the ignition somewhere else anyway, and won't be needed in the rotor?
