Paint Code Experts--Need Help!
 

I found where the paint code is supposed to be on my 1978 930. Front driver's door jamb.

It's supposed to say "Made in Western Germany", and below that "KUNSTHARZLACK".

So far, so good.

But below THAT is supposed to be the paint code, and the numbers I see there don't correspond to any code I have heard of.

The numbers are: 624-9-3.

What's my paint? I'd be much obliged if someone could tell me.

Well, I did that. It came up "Anthrazit Met". Which I assume is Anthracite Metallic.

Trouble is, the site says this was available in 1988-1989 only. My car is a 1978.

My PO says that the car had a special order paint from the factory back then, so maybe it's still possible...

Anyway, thanks for the tip!! It's the closest I've gotten so far.
