HELP PLEASE! Trying to find an o-ring for a Fuel Distributor Plunger
Hi all,
I am trying to find a fuel distributor plunger o-ring for my '77 911s. I have looked on the pelican site, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I got a kit from specialTauto.com that looked like what I needed. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1362154219.jpg Unfortunately, the plunger o-ring they sent me was just slightly larger than the original, and it doesn't want to stay on. Here is a picture of the two. The new one from the kit being on the left. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1362153745.jpg I think the kit is for a later model fuel distributor that had the adjustable holding pressure, un-like mine pictured here. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1362154327.jpg Anyone know where I could get one of these? Thanks! :) - Matt |
If you have dimensions for what you are looking for, McMaster Carr would most likely have what you need.

Look in the yellow pages of your local phone book under machinery or bearings. Call the bearing supply and ask if they have O-rings. Most bearing places also have every O-ring imaginable. Take your parts to them and the helpful man behind the counter will measure what you need with a micrometer and return with the proper O-ring. It will cost less than $5.

I just replaced that o ring using a $20 o ring assortment you can buy at autozone etc. they had one that was a perfect match.

Thanks for the quick responses everyone! I found this place here in town, from a friend. I am gonna run down there, and see if they hook me up with the o-ring. Thanks again. You guys are cool!:)
