Buzzing speakers

I just replaced my 31 yr old paper speakers with some new JL Audio speakers, didn't replace the original radio. My speakers just make a buzzing staticy kind of sound now.

If it is just static or hum and no sound (with engine off), one lead may be touching the chassis somewhere.
If it is static over the sound when the car is running, your noise suppression capacitor may have been removed (usually near the coil) or you need a new one.

Also check to see the speakers are setup in 8 ohm configuration.
How many speakers were replaced? Did you run new wire? Try disconnecting all except one at a time.

check your wiring. car radios are pretty tolerant of speaker impeadance. problems with that arise when impeadance is way too low, usually from too many speakers in paralell.
