I second the green wire connected to the distributor. My '78SC would run perfect for days, and then I'd go out one morning and it wouldn't start. For some unknown reason, 2-3 hours later it would start and run perfectly.

My mechanic thought I was a lunatic, until one day the car quit without warning while he was adjusting the mixture. He finally tracked it to the notorious green distributor wire. New part went in, problem gone for good.......
