Still have a strange noise

Hi all!
I posted before about a noise that I thought was coming from the r/h rear wheel, went out with a mechanic and of course there was no sound, went out yesterday and hay ho there it was and quit loud. it now sounds if the noise is coming from the centaur rear about the back of the engine. ( gear box end ) the sound is like the fan belt is coming apart. But the belt is in good condition, I replaced it but the noise is still there. When I put my foot on the clutch it stops, and when there is power on and on over run the sound is at its loudest. So if I am just costing there is no noise. Could it be the clutch?.
Thanks Steve.

Can you post a sound clip or even a video with sound when this occurs?

BTDT - Main and pinion shaft 4point bearings.... Look at JoshD's thread, he had a sound clip, check if yours is same.

Tranny comes out, wallet opens up. Money flies out etc

Seriously though, I hope it isn't the bearing retainer and spinning bearing races in the trans, but you're describing exactly to a T the symptoms.

Post up sound clip and pics!
Jason
