Replacing Valve Seals
I searched the archives for this and didn't find anything specific to valve seals.
Am I correct in that to do this job, compressed air needs to be supplied to the cylinder to keep the valve from dropping. Then, using a valve spring compressor, the retainer, keeper and seal can be removed and a new seal installed. Is that all there is to it, or are there some tricks and/or gotcha's that I should be aware of? Are there other problems that would result in oil pooling in the exhaust port? A compression test revealed good (175psi) compression on the cylinder in question. Motor is a '73 RS spec 2.7 Thanks,

John,
That's about it, though I would recommend putting the transaxle in 5th gear and engaging the emergency brake to minimize the tendency of the engine to turn over if you don't have it perfectly on TDC. Be sure to use the white Teflon Perfect Circle type valve stem seal rather than the orange elastomer type seal!
