The original filter is no longer available. There are a few threads on how some have adapted the replacement filter to fit, since the original mounting will not work with the newer filter.

thx sully...I guess that is why the filter in a car i am working on is just dangleing below the fuel accumulator rubbing in the chassis frame rail & it is not right...
**Do you or anyone have pics of what has been done to deal with nla fuel filters for these cars...??

![]() My 73.5. The filter is stamped "NAPA", but no number visible. Good luck.

here is what I am dealing with...maybe an "S" shaped metal fuel pipe to connect the accum to filter will solve my situation but where to mount the filter...?

Looks like your accumulator and filter are flipped. Here is the bracket and pipe. I sold the bracket, but I still have the pipe if you need it.

Agree with Mark, someone has flipped your accumulator and filter in order to replace the NLA original filter. The bent pipe with bracket as shown in the pics is the way to go...

a few q's: 1. is the fuel filter avail here at pelican or do i have to go to napa...? 2. I have the correct bracket which it still in place & you all are correct they flipped stuff around to enable them to use a generic filter it appears...so, is the filter nla...? 3. what about the metal fuel line that is semi circle shaped...is that still avail...? if not, i will buy this from mreid... lmk on these q's and we can wrap this up...thx again... ps..I'll check pelican now but I am not the best to find stuff on pelican or the internet for that matter...

ok I checked pelican and from the best I can tell the mreid pipe & filter are nla...
a few more q's: 1. so, mreid please pm me with details on buying your offered fuel pipe...thx... 2. is the picture mreid shows the correct orientation of the accum & filter in reference to how the bracket should be mounted in the car or is LakeClem's picture the correct orientation or does one of the pics need to rotate left or right x# of degrees...?

Hard to tell from the picture but the bracket in your car appears to be for the NLA filter and will not work with the bent pipe. The bracket pictured in MReids pic bends at close to 90 degrees. Mark's picture needs to be turned 90 clockwise for the correct orientation. The fuel accumulator sits straight up. To use the bent pipe line with the above fuel filter you will need to source the later bracket as shown in Mark's picture.

Although you can't see the actual size of the bracket you should be able to feel the edge of it right behind the CD unit. Those 3 bolts/screws you see attach the bracket to the fender well.
