944T wheels

I am about to install my 944T wheels 7/8x16 in my 76 with carerra flares. On the rear I have spacers if needed and long studs. My friend gave me these if I may need them. I need information about how much spacing is needed in the rear and if I use the long studs, which lugs to use. I have heard that VW open face lugs will fit, but I am worried about damage to wheels, etc.any source for alloy open face lugs?

John the best thing to do is jack your car up by the rear or front suspension, take the old wheel off, slide the wheel you would like under the car let the car down to ride hight, careful not to let car down on the tire, (tire catches fender bends fender etc) put the tire where you think it should be 1/4 up inches away from fender lip, then measure the distance from the back side of the wheel where it bolts on to the car to the surface of the brake caliper,(called air gap) now you know what size spacers you need, i wouldnt fool with what you have just buy some spacers from boothe in the back of excellence or ebay, or you maybe able to get them right here at Pelican, if the turbo car is 86 and below it will probably bolt on with out spacers, Kevin
