Torsion Bar play
Hi all,
Back doing a complete front end rebuild. Kinda the while you are in there kinda thing. Started out as a brake job, turned to into caliper rebuild, wheel bearings, ball joints, turbo tie rods, sway bar bushings, bump steer kit and lower steering bearing. Not sure if struts are good or not. (Boge) person I purchased from says they were replaced but the strut housing is pretty grimy. I got the control arms off and have decided to clean them up and re paint. Now I see they need bushings as well. So will be ordering them from our host. My question is the torsion bar that is inside the control arm. Should it have a little play inside of it. I.E. I can wiggle it back and forth a little bit. Since I got it all apart looking for suggestions, that aren't to crazy expensive but to address any potential gotchas. Would like to address everything while I got it apart. Thanks for input. Yes, it does move a little. It's just that foam washer and the adjuster cap that hold it in.

Agree, the end of the torsion bar does flop about with no load on it. Better than being rusted in place.
