Scratched qtr glass by paint shop!!
Yep, they scratched BOTH windows on my '78 SC while reinstalling them. Is Porsche still selling the Sekurit brand glass for the SCs? My contact at the local Porsche dealership says they'll have to order it and bring it in to find out. I want them to replace with original glass/markings.

Oh no... I hope I'm wrong but I doubt Porsche will have new glass with the right markings.
It may be a lot easier to get two good windows from a breaking yard.

Wow...that's unacceptable!!! If you can't find new windows, I likely have a pair of 79SC original quarter windows we removed in favor of pop-outs.

Not sure what type qtr windows you have, maybe you're talking about vent windows? I haven't gotten a straight story, as is common in the auto industry, on what really happened. The frustrating thing is, like much of the car, the glass is original. The important thing is they are going to make it right. I just want to get the correct glass in there. My Porsche dealer is no help on IDing what Porsche would send them. If anyone has ordered qtr glass recently for an SC or Carrera, please post up!

You've got fixed quarter windows, not pop out. Is the glass tinted or clear?

Yup. Clear glass with tint film added on it. Not sure what light tint Sekurit put in there.

Is the glass actually scratched or are the scratches limited to the tint film??

Oh, they scratched the glass alright. Some kinda tool they must have been using to seat the glass.
