Porsche GT3 Body Kit - I need help

Hello All,

I'm hoping someone will give me some advice and assistance here. I was recommended to this site from a fellow Porsche enthusiast and I'm new to this forum. I bought a 1999 Carrera 4S last spring and quickly decided to do a full restoration of the vehicle inside and out. I am converting it to a 911 GT3 RS. Here's my problem. I bought a duraflex GT3 style body kit (front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, and tail wing) from a company in California. I paid over $3000 for the kit plus shipping. When it arrived the body shop here locally signed for it as received in good condition. While waiting on the parts to arrive I found an OEM kit of a higher quality and price and went ahead and ordered it. The company that I bought the kit from in California is now not letting me return it (all sales are final) and are saying because I signed for it as it was delivered there is nothing they will do for me. SO... you can imagine I'm not happy and now I have an extra body kit which of course I do not need. I have put it on Craigslist and am trying to avoid Ebay. At this point I'd really just like to sell it and get it out of my garage, big box and taking up room.

I've uploaded some pictures of it to take a look at... I don't know if this is the right place to try to connect with someone to buy it or if there is another part of this site where it might be more effective.

As I said above, I paid over $3000 for the kit. I have looked at it and want to be fully honest with you... the parts are primed but will require some shop time with further prep work, sanding, re-priming, fixing some blemishes etc. I guess that's why the OEM parts were twice as much as this kit. BUT for the person that knows how to work with Duraflex fiberglass products this could be a heck of a deal. If I can get $2300 for it I'd be happy. Buyer would also be responsible for shipping and would need to tell me how they would like it shipped and I'll do the work to get it then shipped.

I don't like talking badly about people or companies but this group in CA is really a piece of work... I hope you never deal with them as I'm learning a great lesson here to do some homework on where to buy from etc.

Just FYI. None of the stuff pictured is for a GT3RS. If it was sold as a kit I don't know what it would be a kit for.
The wing is for a 996 GT3 MKI.
The front bumper is from a 996 Turbo.
The rear bumper is a 997"style" for a 996???
I wish you luck.

Sorry to hear about your interactions with the company. You may find it better to post a listing in the for sale section as opposed to the technical forums.

Every company has a return policy. Just because you found a different company's products you like better after taking delivery of the first company's products, doesn't mean that if their policy is "all sales final" that they should change it for you. Maybe you could suggest that they charge you a return fee (15-20%) and you pay for return shipping. They completed their contract with you in good faith !!

Agree with Porschcar guy. Even Costco had to change their return policy... I also recommend post in the Classifieds section along with your location. Hopefully you can connect with someone looking for those parts. Best of luck with the sale.

Let me clarify... I don't disagree with policy and procedures, I have them for my companies too, it's the way this company is treating me that is bothersome. They won't respond to calls or emails, won't even acknowledge a question like that from me. I have suggested everything to them, restocking, consignment, etc... they don't even respond.

Thanks Gerry, I have a small retail shop and on EVERY piece of paper that goes to my customer, it states what my return policy is. Since I make a custom product, it is "no returns,
store credit only". I will bend over backwards to satisfy my customer but the one time I gave a partial refund, MC/Visa took the rest as I went against my policy.....Grrrrrrr...so it is sent in cement!!
