Question straight weight oil

If I only drive my SC during warm weather, is there any reason why I shouldn't use straight 30 or 40 weight oil, instead of a multi-vis oil??

Why would you want to? You lose the advantage of multi-vis oil during startup-warmup. This is when your engine is most vulnerable to wear. You need the 20 weight at start-up and the 50 weight at operating temp.

Because...I have a small amount of leakage from my valve covers and oil return tubes. Thought straight weight oil would minimize the leaking, until I fix the seals.

That's what they make kitty litter for, run the multi-vis.
