show me your custom reupholstered Porsche seats!

My seats are embarrassing , cracked, torn and faded and not to mention harder than my combat boots. I would love to have them reupholstered without piping so as to have a French seam. And look at different types of leather combination. Please show me your seats original or unique. Or convince me to stay original.

Porsche Crest My Interiors

My 88 Venetian Blue Cab.

I personally designed my interiors and used a local shop. Decided to do the inserts of the seats the same navy blue as the carpet and accents, also used the carrera script on the headrest. Went with the French stitch and the rounded look on the backrest. Leather was perforated by the shop.

I have had many compliments on the combination and at the same time it looks original.

jc90883, very, very nice! Does the shop you used have a web site? I really like the french stitching and I have not seen the rounded back before, was that your idea or recomendation from the upholstery shop?

My interior is all black currently and was thinking of Alcantara inserts or non perf leather inserts. with red stitching....hmmm

Go to Classic 9 Leather Shop. Robert is a great guy, and does beautiful work.

Absolutely Gorgeous...

jc90883, love the look of the contrasting insets. What did they cost? Wondering what a custom upholstery job costs compared to buying 'off the shelf' leather.

Again, very sweet!

Pensacola Mike,

I am in SO FLo, the shop is local family owned and he does all types of restoration, from classics to modern. The design was my idea but he gave me ideas and suggestions, he came up with the rounded back. We toyed with the Alcantara but decided against it due to the heat and the year of the car. We also toyed with the navy blue stitching but decided against it due to the amount of stitching and it would have been somewhat overpowering since we were doing the inserts.

Make sure your padding are good and if they need to be replaced, that the guy that does the job for use uses adequate and appropriate padding.

Bigel,

I researched and researched until I came to the conclusion that this needed to be done by a pro. I decided on my guy since he has done all types of cars, from old classics to brand spanking new Cadillacs for all types of clients. The price I paid was the going price for the work that needed to be done in the low $1,000's.

Important to note that this is something that you can't hurry the guy on the work that needs to be done.

Once again thanks for the compliments

I recovered the 1970 seats in 1988 for a case of expensive beer.
Location was Ft. Plok, LA.

Bavaria 911, how I wish I could find someone that can redo my seats for a case of beer and produce work as beautiful as they have done for your car.....only in Louisiana, maybe I should head back to my old stomping grounds of lake Charles la. Oh and we used to have a lake house near ft Polk.

custom Porsche seats

Hi Guys,
here are some seats that were modified for the customer-longer,more side support and higher up and with Alcantara centers. We also had to modify the location of the electric switches for a more comfortable seating position.

So, I have taken my seats to an upholstery shop for custom leather seats. I wanted to thank jc90883 for the insipiration as well as many others on pelican parts. I have been stopping by to check on the progress and the upholster had taken some liberties on the pattern and design and swayed away from my request. am I out of line for asking for a discount if he does not create it like I want it or have him redo them until it is like I wanted?

Nice seats Pensacola Mike.

I was just thinking how the Burberry grey design would look in the middle of a sport seat. I don't know much about photoshop but I would like to experiment on this. I think it would look better in an early style sport seat.

These posts have been very inspiring as I've been contemplating getting my seats reupholstered with Alcantara centers much like the ones Stefan posted! That way I can also get my dash covered with a matching Alcantara and all my interior problems will finally be over!

take care,
Michael
