Post Tire recommendations and installers - SF area

I'm soliciting opinions on tires/installers in Northern California (East Bay). I've got an '85 Targa, running 205/55/16 and 225/50/16. I need new rubber and want to have car properly aligned as well.

Car is used purely street and will see little (if any) rain. I've seen good recommendations on the Bridgestone RE730's & Kumho's; the guys at Tire Rack say the 730s are a much better tire than the Kumho. They also suggest the Firestone SZ50 or SZ50EP. Anyone have experience with these or other tire suggestions?

ALSO - anyone have firsthand experience with intallers here? I don't want anyone messing with my fuchs.

TIA

I just ordered new tires from the Tirerack, and am having them shipped to my mechanic in Fremont.

I went with Bridgestone RE730's, 245/45/16 in back and 225/50/16 in front, on 7 & 8" wheels. The rear tires are already on the car, installed by Wheel Works. They were kind enough to throw in a new set of oil lines to replace the ones they flattened with a floor jack. I picked the Bridgestones based on reccomendations on this forum, and on Rennlist.

I'd second a recomendation I got from the board some time back for Custom Alignement in Moutain View. I got Yoko AVS sports as well as the alignement/corner balance from them. A clean shop, good service, other cool cars in lot.... Altogether a positive experience.

Happy Motoring

No matter what or who you decide on, make sure you remove the tire weights yourself if you care about the looks of your wheels. The last thing you want is for some idiot to remove them with a screwdriver, pliers or worse.

Roger Krausse Racing on Grove Way in Castro Valley. He carries all the tires and his installers know P-Cars.
