86 O2 sensor engine location

I assumed it was near the fuel filter in my vintage backed on photo's of other cars, but not there.
Anyone have a photo of where it should be?

O2 sensor is in the exhaust so you have to look under the car. It is on the drivers side in the catalytic converter. If you are swapping it out it is easier to do with the wheel removed.

+1, connector is below the fuel filter unless your car is a Euro

Thanks guys. It's the connector that I don't see near the fuel filter.

I think 86 changed the format

BE911SC 03-09-2013 04:22 PM

Probably less of a PITA than my '84's is!

DRACO A5OG 03-09-2013 04:25 PM

yeap, no connector to crumble on you

Looking for the connector don't see it here

DRACO A5OG 03-09-2013 05:11 PM

it should be in that wire holder under that red zip tie, I think you connector is the 3 in one connector unlike the previous 84-85 connector. if so yiu are lucky.

Storage Man 03-09-2013 06:19 PM

Thanks guys

It's hard to see in your pic but you should be able to see the O2 sensor wire coming thru the wheel well all the way down there in the back by cylinder #3. Just trace the wire to the connector plug if you can't find it.

Got it. Going to instal a M&K PRE muffler soon. Replace or not replace. The sensor was replaced at 60k miles back in 06. There are 5k miles on this one.
