Found a part inside my drivers door

When I had my door trim off to fix a problem with my door locking (all fixed) I checked out the bottom of the door to make sure the drain holes were clear and there was no rust etc.

I found this part lose in the bottom of the door and have no idea what it is or where it came from. It is about 1/2" round and 5/8"high.

Does anyone know what it is and if it is important. I hate it when I end up with parts left over after working on the car

Tim

It is part of the window crank mechanism. The thing in the spring. It is an easy repair and the part is available on pelican. Yours looks ok, just screw it back in. It helps raise the window.

if the window works, it's probably from some previous repair.

Window regulator pivot spring retainer, hopefully from a previous regulator.

I have electric windows and they work fine - I wonder if it was left over from previous owner - I'm not sure the car always had electric windows.

Thanks for the quick reply - I'll check it out anyway.
