Quirky Tachometer
Today I took advantage of the sunny weather and took a drive to "blow out the carbon"... that's when I noticed the Tach had completely stopped working. Last summer it would stick some, but after I stopped somewhere and started the car again, it was operating normal. I thought I would ask anyone here for pointers before taking it to my mechanic for them to tinker around with it just to give me a $500 bill. Any help would be appreciated.

check the connectors on the back of the gauge, probably needs cleaning/polishing, especially the ground. if any are loose, tighten.
just disconnect the negative on the battery, always a good idea no matter how small the job. |
