Tire Stenciling - Old Skool is the New School

So why do modern tribute cars look so soft and like they're missing something?

I mean even the guys who daily drive the cars they build to look like race cars, why no tire stenciling?

Well I decided to no longer fall into the lame catagory so I'm trying my hand at labeling up the Pirelli Corsa's I'm running daily like the cars back in IMSA.

First you have to start with clean wheels...finally got around to polishing the 19x15's and 17x11's

On to the hand drawn stencils...

Art work in action:

In the 60's we used a white crayon sold for the purpose. Just hit the raised letters.

I did that with my car, posted pics over here and not everybody was a fan....... (long time ago)
(ok, my car was a stock 911, , not really in your league or universe for that matter... )

I filled in the lettering with a white marker (especially made for tires)

here's what it looked like, I still like it.
how about white lettering on your tire sidewalls?

(dude is that a cilinder coffee mug??? Awesome!!)

LOL good one!

You were sooo lame before... the lettering will finally make your car worth a second glance...

I ordered a can of whitewall paint and filled the letters on my tires (not my sc) and it looked great............. for a few weeks. I ended up scrubbing it off not because I didn't like the look but because the letters looked pretty crappy and wouldn't clean up.

Wow guys - glad you dig it too! And that i'm following in some footsteps rather than being "retro".

Geronimo those look HAWT!!!!!!!! So gentlemenly n'schit, looks correct for the chassis...

On the mug, yes its something my company makes and its NOT FOR COFFEE ITS FOR BIER!!!!!!! hahahaha, well i use it for coffee too, but mainly beer.

The only problem with mine is that the lettering is SOOO tiny on the raised stuff so I had to go all out and hit some stencils...my freehand sucks! But it works for me after a few beers...

The paint I used was some "made for plastics" white paint from the autoparts store...we'll see how it holds up!

More pics (cuz that's what we wanna see anyways right?)

I never get tired of looking at that car.

I like it too!
Just filling the raised portions of the letters would be too small. It worked for my car but my wheels are a tad smaller...
Maybe a scan of your freehand, edited for perfection and then cut out, would be even better.

(how much for the mug, and where do I order?)
