Backdating Cold Start lever
Anyone ever backdate a 3.6 conversion to use the older hand lever throttle advance like in the earlier 911 long hoods? Is it a simple mod or harder then it seems? Wanted to add this to my rsr backdate list of things to do. Thought it would be nice to have a hand advance to help on cold start ups with the 3.6 and carbs. Thanks.

should be pretty simple - my 73 has one for the MFI, of course, and my 77 930 has one for - what - I don't know? - so I'm guessing anything - 70 - 77 should have all the proper holes in the firewall and tunnel already for the throttle rod?
You don's mention what year body you're working with. Bill K

Thanks. Its for my 86 to 73 backdate. There are the defrost levers in place of the advance levers that I had in my 73 911 had it for the MFI too. It was great. It looks simple enough. Im backdating the heater controls on the 86 as well to the earlier cable controls.

What I was trying to infer is, that if you source a center console unit controller (the one over the e-brake) from a 77-ish 911 - it will already have the push-pull throttle lever, the heater control stick (red knob), the temp control dial, plus the innards for the auto temp control if so desired.
