Lowering a 964

Is it possible to drop the ride height of a 964 without swapping springs? I was looking at my front strut to try and figure out how to remove and replace the spring without breaking the brake line(brakes were just bled and fluid changed by OPC). I then noticed thet there is almost 1 inch of thread below the spring perch.

Can this be wound down to drop the height by an inch. I assume this would also affect camber which is fine because its being aligned tomorrow IOT put in more negative camber anyway.
Also on the same topic whether I lower the perches or not is it OK to use the RS specs with stock spings and 4x4 ride height?

Thanks
