How to remove Carrera valance?
 

This falls into the dumb question category for sure I'm afraid... I need to remove my valance (only - not the bumper) to repaint it. I made an effort the other day but couldn't figure out how to remove all the fasteners without taking a lot of other parts off, and I figured that couldn't be right. I could easily get the fog lights out, but that's about it.

I don't have a chin spoiler. My valance is really beat looking, and I've got a can of Guard's Red from paintscratch.com at the ready. Please enlighten me.

Open up your trunk and pull back the carpet - at the very front of the trunk you will see two bolts that you need to remove to unbolt the valance. Also if memory serves correctly there are two small bolts on each side that connect the sides of the valance to the small pieces that are under the fender(Part 49) and then there is one bolt on each side that holds the valance to the chassis(Part 27). Most of this is hard to do with the bellows in the way. It helps if you turn the front wheel out of the way or remove the front tires entirely so you can get in there and see where the bolts are at. Radcon is right - its MUCH easier if you remove the bellows!
Need an 8MM deep well socket, and a few minutes has 'em off.

Thanks guys. I would not have guessed at the trunk-based fasteners. I couldn't find a pic of this assembly in Bentley - only the bumper - strange.

Uh, once you remove the bellows, just pull the very front rubber strip back until you can remove the two bolts on either side. There's no need to get into the trunk at all.

Of course, remove the side markers and turn signals first.
