Was this video inspired by Magnus?
A tale of another urban outlaw...

Ken Block has been doing this for a lot longer than Magnus has been making videos of his cars. When it comes to the Gymkhana style driving, Ken Block is The Man.
Edit: not that the video isn't incredible!

Yes, but all of his others were mainly industrial settings, not urban

Apples and oranges, so to speak. I mean come on this guy is a professional driver in a car that is setup to drift any which way. His videos are way over the top compared to mw.

My sentiment towards top level rally changed dramatically when the so called WRC spec rules replaced group A. I know that the street version of a WRX or Lancer EVO were obviously not the same as those of a group A rally weapon, but a company had to build a AWD performance vehicle for the public in order to take part. It improved the breed and made the market place better for the buyers seeking that kind of car. Now the cars border on silhouette racers. As a matter of fact companies trying to do it "the right way" are at a disadvantage to the point of no longer being competitive...Edit to clarify, I understand that gymkhana is not rallying, just a very entertaining form of stunt driving, my comment was in response to Nathan's Dad presumably tongue-in-cheek comment about buying a Fiesta

Anyone with a fair bit of driving skills and a ton of $$$$$'s can learn that ghymkana stuff........ Don't get me wrong, it's pretty cool, but where is Ken Block in WRC.................?? That's where the real rally drivers step up..

I agree that the WRC is where the real deal is. I'm a big fan, and if I ever needed to get to the hospital quickly, I'd rather have Sebastian Loeb drive me there, then any of the F1 guys.

In Canada we call that "driving to work in the winter," and I learned it from my car seat as a kid while heading to the grocery store with my mom in her 400 cubic inch Chrysler. All the mommy's of her generation know how to drive like that out of necessity ![]() Where is Ken Block in WRC? Here: Ken Block aiming for three rounds of 2013 World Rally Championship - WRC news - AUTOSPORT.com (but mostly in the U.S. where he was awarded rookie of the year driving for subaru - http://www.rally-america.com/drivers/view/2248-Block)

No do overs in WRC like there is in his videos.
Seriously if he spent half as much time practising for rallies as he did for these pointless Gymkhana videos he might not do half bad but there are way more drivers deserving of a WRC ride than he is. All these videos do is make it harder for us to get roads closed for proper rallies as the kids see them and try to emulate his sick skids which causes the authorities to be reluctant to give us the roads we need for our national championships. Actually from what I've been told from a source at MSport he pays for his WRC ride. As do most of the drivers other than the top 4 or 5 these days.
Edit: to clarify the WRC ride part Cheers Al

Since this has drifted (pun probably intended) way off topic, I'll just add that no Ken Block video has been a pox of epic proportions the way the idiotic Fast & Furious "movies" have been in regards to the amount of stupidity being carried out on the roads and the resulting crackdowns and draconic measures legislated by the soccer mom brigade and putting a curse on all those who enjoy driving...

Ho owns DC Shoes. That's why he can afford to do this.

I think there is a difference between torchering a Fiesta to crap and having fun with a Porsche
I like this video much better, but that's me.
