Exhaust washers

Should washers be used under the nuts which fasten the heat exchangers to the heads ?
I have the copper nuts from our host.

Why?? just curious.

I always use stainless washers underneath the copper lock nuts. and just to note they are only copper clad steel lock nuts.

For what it's worth, I used stainless washers under my copper exhaust locknuts. No problems so far. Got a huge bag of them at Fastenal for about $12.

No need for washer, the H.E. flange is a huge washer and the copper nut/barrel nut have a flange as well.

Just did mine this morning. Only use the 6mm hex and 12mm wrench.

15 minutes per (on a stand), a bit longer on your back, barefoot in a snow storm on a hill
