993 Targas - Pros & Cons/value???
Regretting the sale of my 87 Cabriolet a few years ago, I have been looking for a replacement. But I have found a 97 993 Targa 50k miles, in nice condition. Before I go ahead with PPI, please chime in with the yeas & nays.
I've heard they sometimes rattle, but that is repairable. Any leak problems? Does rarity add to or decrease value? What do you think its worth?

Alan,
I have read everything I could on these cars. I have a 74 targa, but I have been very intrigued by the 96/97 targas. I saw one driving down the interstate and decided if I ever could afford a newer one that was the model I wanted. Panorama had a Firsthand file on the 993 targa in October 2000. Ten owners review their cars. Most were very happy. It was a good summary. Hope you can get a copy of it to review. See Ya, Mark

There was a USA model '98 targa, very rare.
There are reports of leaking and seal problems. Not consistent or widespread but if you get a bad leak it can lead to major expense to repair. |
