Rec'd Octane for 911SC?

What type of gas (87, 89, 93, 94+ octane) runs best in '79 911SC? Mainly interested in street use with light track use.

Any suggestions?

If I put less than 91 of the pig swill AZ calls gasoline, my '81 pings like mad.

Mine is happy as a clam on 87 here in the Pacific Northwest. I don't think I've ever heard it ping.

As far as I can tell, the only thing higher octane will get you on these relatively low compression engines is a bigger fuel bill

Same here, Jamie.
But the minute the car gets further South (as in OR and CA), the quality of fuel seems to diminish. Then, have to fill with 91+.
Still good fuel available in the Rainforest.
