where to get torque wrenches calibrated?
Reccommended torque wreches WTB?, that was an interesting thread, uuhhmm leads to believe that all three of my craftsman T-wrenches are probably due for a look at. Just where does one go to get a wrench checked/calibrated?

I had my old one tested at an aircraft repair place. Aircraft mechanics have to have theirs done like every 6 months. Like $20 or something. It was $20 well spent, because, it showed my old cheapy was toast.

C2,
What kind of wrench is it? If its a good one (snap-on, proto, matco etc) then the local sales reps will almost always calibrate them for free, either on the truck or take it and return it the next week. Otherwise there are labs that do this type of thing but you need to find someone who will do it. You could call a maintenance shop at a airport and ask where they have it done. Joe |

The FAA is coming out with a requirement that all torque wrenches have to be calibrated before each use. There for all aircraft maintenance facilities will be tooling up with new torque wrench cal. equipment in the very near future.
