Extra Garage Jack
HF is having a sale and they have a low profile floor jack. I have no issues with the 911 with my current jack, but I have to drive the M3 up on some 2x4 to get the jack under the front. Anyone have one? I know that China stuff is not the greatest, but for $100 when I need to pull a wheel off or putting the 911 on Jack stands, thought it might be worth it.

I have that jack for my 964. It is excellent. I could not find any other jack that goes both as low and as high. You can easily get it under any necessary part of a lowered 911 and lift just about 2 feet off the ground. I use four of the ESCO flat-top jack stands and strictly assume that every jack will fail instantaneously upon the conditions existing for it to damage the car or the mechanic. So even if this were not a well-built jack (and it seems to be as far as I can tell), it would not bother me.

Thanks guys. There have been occasions where I needed a second jack and have been waiting on HF to have a sale. Glad to hear it can get under the lowered cars.
I too always assume jacks and even jack stands might fail. I am not sure how safe it is, but I always put the wheels and tires under the sides of the car thinking if the jack stands/jack failed, the car would fall on top of them. Of course it could tilt backwards, but at least it is something.

I recently got this for not much more and it seems quite stout: Arcan Quick Lift Professional Service Jack — 3 1/2-Ton, Model# XL35 | Floor Jacks| Northern Tool + Equipment
It goes down to 3.5". Not sure if that is low enough for your M3.

The El Cheapo HF 3-ton floor jack is a good deal, IMO. I can lift the front of my 12,000 tractor with it, which I have to do all the time to change tires. I like that it's aluminum so that I can throw it in the back of the truck with ease.

Great jack, I bought it for my lowered lexus, unfortunately it still was not low enough to clear the chassis, but it was better than stacking multiple blocks of wood.
Works great on the 911 now! When I purchased mine a few months ago, I got an additional discount in store, not sure why, but it came out to be $124.99.
