Beginner clutch adjustment

A question regarding clutch adjustment : Having released the front nut at the Bowden tube as far as it will go, is the clutch cable still supposed to be this hard to remove from the hook??? And I imagine putting it back onto the hook will be even more difficult Any tips/technique or specific tools for making this part of the procedure a little easier?

I use vise grips but any pliers will work.

check your pedal - if its on the floor, get a helper to lift it a little IIRC

Thank you, will give it another go this weekend.
Could someone please post a picture of where the clutch can be adjusted at the pedal cluster, Ive read there is a screw there that allows you to make adjustment. Have tried doing a search for it with no luck.

" If you have trouble meeting this distance, within the range of the adjustment nuts, then you might need to readjust the trunion pin at the pedal cluster end of the cable."
The article doesnt have any pics - are there any pics of this trunion pin location?

unless you put a new cable in you probably shouldn't need to mess with the pedal end. look at the pedal cluster rebuild article, it may show the pin. you need to remove the floorboard and you will see it.
